Sierra Kombucha is made from organic green tea that is combined with a cultivated “Scoby” (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast), organic sugar (the sugar is necessary to ferment the kombucha), and organic or all natural juice. The microorganisms in the culture feed on the sugar that causes the tea to ferment. The end product is a slightly carbonated elixir which has multiple nutritional and medicinal benefits.
Like yogurt, the pro-biotic bacteria in kombucha can boost immunity, enhance mood, fight allergies, detoxify the body and rid the body of disease. Kombucha typically contains a wide range of organic acids, vitamins and enzymes as well as the range of B vitamins, particularly B1, B2, B6 and B12 that provide the body with energy.
Sierra kombucha strives to provide a unique blend of the kombucha flavor and juice flavor (not too overpowering either way). Some have called our brand a “middle of the road” kombucha – not the strongest, not the lightest. Some might ask why ours isn’t as carbonated as others. We believe the lighter carbonation is appealing to a large market and makes ours unique.
